Thank you for writing this note! I have often smelled this horrible oil smell in the neighborhood. Seems particularly bad when it's humid out. Someone else thought it had to do with an asphalt factory? I never knew who to complain to, but it's awful, and I have to close the windows when it occurs. Frequently smell it driving over the Q Bridge too.

A Health Inspector is investigating this complaint.

It would be helpful to know if they are in compliance with state and federal emission regulations. Does anybody have this info?

NH health inspector said this a DEEP issue. Have they been notified or is the health official passing the buck without actually passing it?

I find it really strange that nobody else is concerned about this.
The chemical odor from the terminal continues but now there is an additional odor that seems to be around the whole Mill River area and at times, depending on which way the wind is blowing, can be observed all the way to Olive street.

In addition to this we have the Gateway terminal along East street moving huge amounts of salt and sand. There are times,especially when it's windy, when there is such a dust storm over there that it's hard to see. Some days there are hundreds of dump trucks going in and out of there spewing diesel exhaust and dropping material all over East St.
Martinez school is just on the other side of the river and Conte is a short distance away. We wonder why kids are having health issues?
